Hello,

I have linux installed with dhcpd server,  It starts but fails to assign IP
using the predefined range in dhcpd.conf to my win98 client.  Can anybody
give me some suggestions to solve this.

B.regards,

1. DHCPD fail to assign IP correctly to win98 client

Hi guys,

I have set the following in dhcpd.conf in my linux dhcpd server.  However I
find it fails to assign ip to my win98 client correctly within the range.
Instead it still assign 192.168.1.2 to the win98 client.  I've checked the
windows directory in the win98 client and find no host or lmhost files.

subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
range 192.168.1.10 192.168.1.100;

I have also tried to insert host paragraph into dhcpd.conf to force the ip
of the network card to 192.168.1.10.  But it fails.

Can anyone give me idea to solve this ?

Many thanks,
Fai.
