I have been trying to install Redhat 5.1 by FTP using a 'Tulip'
network card. When I run the installation program, the card is
detected and all of the software is downloaded successfully.
When the machine restarts and Linux is started, suddenly the 'Network
is unreachable'. If I startx, I see that eth0 is inactive. If I
activate it, it inactivates itself once more.
I have already tried:
* options=12 to configure for 10baseT
* reinstalling (three or four times)
* changing network cards
I have heard that this problem has been experienced by others, but
can find no record of a solution.
Can anyone help?
