Samba on Sun Solaris 2.6: Some users still can't access share

Post by Frederic Fau » Thu, 02 Sep 1999 04:00:00

All,

I'm still not through with Sam's "Teach Yourself Samba in 24h", so I
may have missed something in adding a share to a RAID system that
already hosts other Samba shares successfully :

1. Created user group ("Doc")
2. Added users to that group, with their login name identical to the
one they use to log onto the NT domain
3. Created target directory, with Doc as the group owner

5. Added registry entry to force clear text password (User are either
running  NT4SP3 or WK2)

=> One user running NT4SP3 can access in rw mode, while another NT4SP3
and a W2K user still get "incorrect password or login". Any idea ?

Thx for any tip,
FF.

The system required Windows 95 or better, so I installed Linux!

1. Apache Shared Modules on Sun Sparc Solaris 2.6

I'm trying to get Apache 2.1.12 running on SunSparc Solaris 2.6.

I configured it up fine, but when I run it, I get:

# ./httpd.new -f /apps/conf/httpd.conf
Syntax error on line 207 of /apps/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /apps/libexec/mod_vhost_alias.so into server:
ld.so.1: ./httpd.new:
fatal: relocation error: file /apps/libexec/mod_vhost_alias.so:
symbol ap_table_
setn: referenced symbol not found

Any ideas,

Thanks,

GTG
