I was running RH4.2 and /var/log/secure always logs the hostnames that
try to connect to my machine. Recently I upgraded to RH5.0 and I noticed
that /var/log/secure logs only the IP addresses instead of hostnames
now. I didn't make any configuration changes related intentionally, nor
do I know what kind of change can result in such a difference. Can
anyone tell me how I can get /etc/log/secure to log hostnames again?

what if i change my ip and connect to a pc ? Is there any way of
identifying the pc by hardware addres.....
is there any way of changing the hardware address.....like i don't
want to change the card........i just want to mask the hardware
address.......
