I'm trying to make my Linux box serve as a print server for 3 PCs in our
lab. I have install Samba 1.9 and can really use some help now:
the damned PC just won't print !
I can mount disks from them, can move files between them, they even see
the printer, they queue print jobs, but nothing happens. The only clue
that I have right now is:
log.nmb:
11/14/97 12:37:06 netbios nameserver version 1.9.17p2 started
Get_Hostbyname: Unknown host hobbes.
Unable to get my hostname - exiting.
log.smb:
Get_Hostbyname: Unknown host hobbes.
Added interface ip=128.151.160.21 bcast=128.151.160.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
/var/log/syslog:
Nov 14 12:48:42 hobbes inetd[63]: /usr/sbin/nmbd: exit status 0xff
Nov 14 12:49:13 hobbes last message repeated 30 times
Nov 14 12:49:21 hobbes last message repeated 8 times
Nov 14 12:49:22 hobbes inetd[63]: netbios-ns/udp server failing (looping),
service terminated
Unforyunately, I have no idea how to fix it. Please, help.
