Realtek 8029/StarOffice 51a

Post by Huub van Nieker » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

    Hi,

1:  can anyone tell me the procedure for installing the Realtek 8029
driver? I've downloaded the source-code of the ne2k-pci.c but I don't
exactly understand how to configure it.

2:  does anyone know how I can configure StarOffice 5.1a for printing to
my Star LC-20 (NX-1001) and the HP LaserJet 1100?

Thanks,

Huub

Compile it and load it. Read the Modules HOWTO for more info. What
don't you exactly understand? There should be nothing on the card
to configure. It's PCI.

Point it at the printer entry you have defined for your printer on your
box. I just went into SO and clicked on printer setup and chose
postscript options. Gneerally I save to a file first, however, for
postprocessing.

1. The RTL8029 chip is 100% compatible to NE2000, so just select NE2000
or clone. (If you've got Suse, then it's easy going under yast.)

2. The printer has to be configured under yast as well. I also have
problems with configuring the printer for Star Office under X.

Download the kernel sources and recompile the kernel with support for
NE2000 PCI cards
