Be aware that PCL 4, as used by the HL-730, only goes up to 300 dpi, so if
you buy an HL-730, you'll effectively have only a 300 dpi printer, which
is pretty lame by today's standards. If you want a Brother, I'd recommend
nothing less than the HL-760, which supports PCL 5e and, hence, 600 dpi
printing from OSes other than Windows.
As to what you'd specify, tell Ghostscript that you're printing to a
LaserJet 4 for PCL 5e and it should be fine. I'm not sure what printer is
optimal for the HL-730, but probably any HP LaserJet emulation lower than
the LJ4 will do the job.
