Hi,
I have to rerun sndconfig each time I boot to get sound to work
properly. After a boot I can play cd's fine, but mp3 files and so
on don't work. But if I run sndconfig it works fine.
What could be wrong?
thanks,
Nick

I have to do the same thing. What program are you using to play MP3's?

One possibility is that isapnp is not being run on booting, as it isQuote:>> I have to rerun sndconfig each time I boot to get sound to work

I'm using mpg123. But my problem appears for other programs too. So I
don't think mpg123 is the problem.
I'm going to try the other tip, (by Bill Unruh), about isapnp..

If you have any more ideas I'd be more than happy to receive them!
