I tried to install S.U.S.E. on my machine.  After installing, the hard drive
would grind every few seconds.  Is this normal?  


1. Crashing Suse Problems


Great sympathy with your frustration.

My only suggestion is to change kernels to something more stable. The
most thorough way to do this is to reconfigure and rebuild and I don't
recommend that process unless you have time to learn how, or your b.f.
knows exactly what he's doing.
