Post by E & » Mon, 01 Jul 2002 02:49:40

I've set up WVDial by using the default setting ... username =XXX,
password = XXX in /etc/wvdial.conf ... but once it is connected, it has
such msg:

carrier detected, waiting for reply ...
-->replying not ok! disconnected

What happened? Can anybody help.

I set up wvdial as root, then added my user account name to
/etc/group, then use Gkrellm to call wvdial with "wvdial --no-syslog \
   > /dev/null 2>&1 &"

1. wvdial problems

hi there,

im trying to connect to the internet using debian and wvdial.

i have established a nameserver configuration file, and created
a link from the serial port connected to the modem to /dev/modem.

my reference then suggests the following two commands

1.  type in - route del default
output -     SIOCDELRT: No such process

2. type in - wvdial
    output - cannot open /dev/modem: Input/output error

anyone with any suggestions?

patrick
