Well, I have CD Audio working fine. I have /dev/dsp and /dev/audio.
/dev/midi is theere but cat'ing a file to it doesn't work. /dev/mixer
is tehre, I don't know what is is for. /dev/audio1 is there, id does
not seem to do anything.

Here is my question. How do I get sound files working? I am currently
only tring to play wav. /dev/audio produces unbearable screeching and
/dev/dsp produces an enlongened or very 'deep voice' sound.

I'm looking for a way to generally play sounds, and where can I found diff.
sound files .. au mid more?

You must have kernel support for sound. Read the SOUND-HOWTO, a very
good document on how to set up sound with linux. As for sound sites,
there are many. One of my favorites is www.worldwidemusic.com and (if
