hi!

i am desperately searching for a solution to get my epson stylus color
300 printer running with suse linux 5.3. i am already using ghostscript
5.50, tried all available *.upp-files and everything else coming along
with the installation. i also tried to modify some *.upp-files for my
own needs. no results.

i get draft quality always, really insufficient for printing documents.

is there anyone who can help?

I DON'T WANT TO USE WINDOZE!

Goto http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/pht/printer_list.cgi?make=epson

the setup should be there, it's one of the options -printquality=1 or
something like that.

I just got a Epson Color Stylus 740. I know it's different from your
Epson 300, but the upp files may work for you. It's worth a shot.

thank you very much for your quick response, but these were the obvious
ways, which -of course - do not work by murphys law. so i am stuck, it seems.
