Mount point for second harddrive?

Mount point for second harddrive?

Post by Niklas Stran » Thu, 17 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hi all.

I'm about to install Linux RH 5.2 on a computer with three
harddrives, 1200, 630 and 520MB.

I'm goin to use the 1200MB as root partiton, but where should I
mount the other two drives?
Which directories needs most space on a single user system?

TIA

/usr
But I'd suggest you use the 520 MBytes for /, 1200 MBytes as 800 MBytes /usr
plus 400 spare and the 630 either as spare or /home -- depends on how much
data you need to store.
To get an idea why an how to structure a file hirarchy, have a look at the
FHS (File Hirarchy Standard).
