message of the day

Hi, everyone.  I am a somewhat-newbie to Linux, and yet I am in the
position of being the sysadmin for a (small) multi-user system.  I am
picking things up slowly, but there are a few things that I can't seem to
find in my references or online.  I hope that I can ask them here.

The main question I have at the current time is how to set up a "message
of the day".  I've seen these on UNIX systems before, and I've read
references to this in the man page for login.  However, I haven't been
able to find out how to set this up.  Does anyone have any ideas about how
to do this?  I am running RedHat 5.1.

Thanks in advance,

Brian
