Since 3.5, Slackware recommends using cfdisk. This is a nice tool for
standard things (it can even make a, say, 16 Mb partition at the end of
the drive. To do that with fdisk requires some sector calculations by
head). I don't know Disk Druid, but I think cfdisk is less sophisticated.
I used fdisk, because I had used it thrice before.
However, if you're afraid of fdisk, Slackware might not be the right
choice. RedHat has more easy setup utilities.

Zipslack is a Slackware distribution for on a Zip disk. If you want to run
Linux to run from Zip, yes, this is the right file. Else, download the
packages in the slakware directory. They don't all fit on one Zip, but
perhaps you don't need them all.
Also, you allways need a boot and a root disk. Choose the right boot disk
from the bootdsks-144 or bootdsks-120 (I think) directory, and take the
color.gz file from the rootdsks directory (this one has a nice-looking
setup program). Burn those two each on a floppy with rawrite.exe (or dd if
you're on a Unix-like system).
A week ago, zipslack still had kernel 2.0.33 (according to the text file
accompanying it). Slackware 3.5 uses kernel 2.0.34, which, amongst other
fixes/enhancements, has fat32 support. All sorts of utilities are as
up-to-date as possible (some only 2 weeks old now, one week when the
distrib was released).
Sorry for this long post. I was unclear how much you already new, so I
decided to write it all down targeted for a newby (not hard, as I am one
myself).
Bye,
Marijn
