It's curious ! In the beginning, I also had a Mitsumi CDROM, and rootdisk UMSDS144,
and I had no problem. The only difference is that my base system is Slackware 2.1.
Perharps there is a bug with the 2.2.0 version ?
Although, I have partionned my disk because it's more convenient for the boot time.
