I am attempting to load Yggdrasil Linux onto a Dell laptop using the
network load option provided on the Yggdrasil Fall 1995 Linux CD-ROM.
I created the disk and booted the laptop from the diskette. At the
"boot:" prompt I type:
linux ramdisk=1440 root=/dev/fd0
as instructed by the manual.
It goes through its boot procedure, finds my IDE controller and hard
disk, finds the western digital ethernet card, and then says the
following:
Welcome to Yggdrasil Plug-and-Play Linux, Fall 1995 edition!
470 blocks
function: not found
Then the machine hangs and will do nothing else.
Obviously there is something wrong with the netboot disk. Is there
someplace I can FTP a properly operating netboot disk? Or does anyone
know how to get around this problem?
Please respond by E-mail.
Thanks
