well.. i'm not getting  any sound in Quake 2 for linux v3.14a.
and i don't think its my kernel-configuration.
i can play .pcm (raw) files and .au files
i use mikit for mod and it files, and xmp for xm files with my AWE
wavetable.
playmidi works with fm synthesis, and drvmidi works with my AWE.
suggestions....

ok.. i got it. the problem is the kernel.
i use 2.1 because i need fat32 support
but it breaks the spund in quake2. :/
sound works fine with 2.0.33 kernel.

There are patches available for 2.0.33 for Fat32.

  yep.. i found them :)
but now my AWE32 doesn't work.. (just as a sb16)...
also the console seems buggy... sometimes i can      ls /usr/src
(which is on ext2)
and i'll have to wait forever to get something...
it just says
    total [xx]

or something
but I think this has something to do with the isdn patches i've applied.
btw.. has     anyone gotten    awedrv-0.4.2d     to patch the kernel
source ok?  (2.0.33)
im using redhat 5.0
