Help w/xterm settings in KDE

Post by Dave Critell » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

Hello:

I just installed Linux-Mandrake for the first time.  I need some help
however setting up my text colors in an xterm window.  When I do an "ls"
my directories appear in blue, my files appear in red and everything
else appears in black text.  Unfortunately the red and blue colors are
real * my eyes (it's in the shade of the color - it makes the text
look blurry to my).  I want to change the text in the screen to _all
black_ but I can't figure out where to change this setting.  Can someone
please offer some guidance on what would seem to be an easy question?

Many thanks.
Dave

Check out your /etc/.bash_profile probably there will be some env
variable LS_COLORS defined.....for correct name of this variable ...try
ls man page......to change colors in xterm look for .Xdefaults
file....do find on that....copy that file in to home dir ~/.Xdefaults
and play around with it.....

 Good Luck

Arvind
