calloc failed on 2.2.0

Post by alain ganuchau » Wed, 02 Jun 1999 04:00:00

Hi all,

I'm running a Redhat 5.2 (2.2.0) with 2GB Ram, I modified the famous
PAGE_OFFSET for a 2GB:2GB configuration.

The problem:
I'm porting a prog from hpux, it does run well till:
calloc (1,40) failed brk=715825152 (0x2aaaa00)

I seems we encountered a Memory limit... but Which one?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks

1. uil fails on calloc

Has anyone had the problem of uil failing when trying to build the
motif demos?  This happens:

jove.root$ cd demos/periodic
jove.root$ make
        rm -f periodic.uid
        ../.././clients/uil/uil -o periodic.uid periodic.uil -I../.././clients/ui
l
Error: Cannot perform calloc
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.

Make Quitting.

I figured this was due to having insufficient memory.  But I have 32MB
available as this shows:

jove.root$ csh
# limit
cputime         1:00:00
filesize        1048575 kbytes
datasize        65536 kbytes
stacksize       4096 kbytes
coredumpsize    1024 kbytes
memoryuse       32768 kbytes

Thanks for any help.
