Does anyone have a working printcap for this printer? TIA Ray
I have not had this problem with cda, the text based part of xmcd.
I have a Toshiba IDE CD-ROM. Other than this volume problem , workman
is great.
Thanks!

Check the manpage. There is a setting for minimumvolume. I am not on
my linux box now, so can't remember. The other way is to use the -V
switch in workman command line. The default is 128, you can set it to
0 to get no sound at the minimum volume.

Workman is working correctly : "None" in this case means "do not override
the default" -- so you can have a seperate volume control for every
track in your CD collection. Neat.
Other posts tell you how to do what you want, though.

gs -q -sDEVICE=djet500 -dNOPAUSE -sOutputFile=/dev/lp1 -- gslp.ps filename
gs is ghostscript, gslp.ps converts text files to postscript for gs, and
this works for me for right now. Nothing fancy I havn't gotten to figuring
out the lp filter stuff I just wrote a little script.

Someone told me to use the magic filter (which is somewhere on
the slackware distribution) and I tried it. It works very
simple and great! I even print Postscript (well allright the
printer does :-)) and it looks great too.I only don't get the
colours 100% yet, but that already looks great. Some other
people gave me some filter and different printcap files, so
maybe I've to play with them a little.
I can send a copy of them if you want (I'm not at my Linux
machine at the moment so I can't send it you right away).
Please let me know..

Why bother today, if it can be postponed, life's to short ...

: Where could I look for this filter, I've got the August and November
: 1995 versions of Infomagic (Slackware 2.3 and 3.0) ?
Try aps filter instead. It's easy to setup and to use. It's in the
directory system/Printing of the November CD n. 4

Can someone please help me setup my DJ 660cse. I have
tried to set up the /etc/printcap file and have created
an Input Filter per "Linux Secrets" by Naba Barkakati,
but the printer only feeds out blank pages when I attempt
to print. If anyone could provide me with some help it
would be greatly appreciated. If you prefer you can reply
Thanks in advance...
