Use a recent 2.4.x kernel, and hit the web for programs such as "motion" and
for software with keywords like "Linux" and "Logitech QuickCam".

You are going to need drivers to access the quickcam. The usb drivers and
the video4linux driver come with the 2.4 kernels. The quickcam driver has
to be downloaded... Try qce-ga.sourceforge.net and also
http://www.veryComputer.com/~delwi/quickcam/ The driver that I
am using for my quickcam (just got it set up and running yesterday is at
http://www.veryComputer.com/~delwi/quickcam/quickcam-web-d...

Then you gotta add device node /dev/video0...3, and add entries for them in
/etc/modules.conf.

As for software...There are tons of it around....

1. USB webcams for FreeBSD 4.6?

Hello all-

I'd like to get a USB webcam for my FreeBSD 4.6
machine.  Preferably something where I can easily take
frame captures at around 30 fps.

Any recommendations for new webcams that have drivers?
I know there are older webcams that are supported but
I can't find them in stores here.

Thanks-
