lerdir does not seem to work with Redhat 5.1 and the free dos

Post by Ralph Blac » Tue, 28 Jul 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

I just installed Redhat 5.1 on a QDI planar with k233 processor.
Everything worked just fine untill I brought
up DOS and tried to do an Lredir.  The command worked fine,
but when I tried to used the newly redirected disk, I got a gdt
exception.  I then loaded MS dos on a virtual drive,
booted the image, and tried the lredir and it worked.

Does the free dos work with lredir?  Is there any secret to this?

Apparently not.  I had the same problems, and saw messages in
newsgroups that FreeDOS can't handle lredir (yet).  I don't know all
the details, but there are at least repeated rumors which seem to be
well founded.
