Hi all,
When I went to 2.0.27, I installed it on a different drive,
keeping my previous version (1.2.13) on a downed drive. All was
kewl except that X wouldn't run because 2.0.27 didn't set up a
/dev/console file. I had to bring back the old drive, mount it
under /old and soft link to it ( ln -s /old/dev/console /dev/console )
to get X going.
Problem is that now I want to waste the old drive and run
purely from the new installation, but I can't without a /dev/console,
and cp /old/dev/console /dev/console ain't cuttin' it. (Yes, I
unlinked it first. :-) )
Any pointers to where I can read up on these special
devices and finger out what went wrong (and, of course, how to fix it)?
Many TIA.
