Hangs during boot at "Starting System Logger"

Hangs during boot at "Starting System Logger"

The installation process went smoothly on an AMD K6-2 300mhz with
System Commander and Win98 and NT 4 already existing on my first HD.

Now, it'll boot up to the point where it says "Starting System Logger"
but then it hangs.  It'll echo anything I type, but there's no
response.  Pressing ctl-alt-del will do a shut-down and reboot.

Is there a way to disable this System Logger?  Of course it'd have to
be something done before the Linux command line because I can't get to
it at this state.

I hardly call that installation process "smoothly" if it won't even boot.
And no you can't disable the logger cause it is responsible for writing the
"System Log messages" to disk. Hence the name...
This is serious enough to re-install...
CU.
