Corel has issues w/ppp.....one solution has been to edit the
/etc/ppp/options,save it as a new file, then touch /etc/ppp/optons(touch
creates an empty file-supposedly same size?) others say to use the fix

Corel? LINUX? OS - Dial-Up FAQ
Q: Why do I get an error reading "PPP Daemon died unexpectedly" when I dial
out with
Dial-Up?
A: Edit the /etc/ppp/options file. Comment out the lines that contain auth
and lock by placing a
"#" at the beginning of the line. These lines will only contain these words.
Save the changes
and try the dial-up again. If problems persist after you have edited the
file, contact your ISP to
see if there are any special settings you must include to connect to them.
