Hey, I don't know if anybody can answer this, but here goes...
I'm running slackware, and I recompiled my kernel to include sound
drivers for my SoundBlaster 16
Everything seemed to work fine, but whenever I try to play a sound, I
hear a little bit of static on the speakers and then it quits and gives
an I/O Error.
cat: write error: I/O error
Any ideas?

1. pcmcia modem card and sound card installation problem
I am using a pcmcia Practical modem card and ESS Maestro-2E sound chip. The
pcmcia port can be detected by the RedHat 6.1 but the modem and sound chip
do not work. How can it make them work?
I am a new user. Can you give me the exact command lines that I have to
