Adaptec aic7850

Adaptec aic7850

I need some help installing Linux on an HP Netserver that has an adaptec
aic7850 SCSI card.  I am new to Linux (lots of SCO experience) and am not
familiar with how to install a new kernel with this card.

I am attempting to install Red Hat from a CD from a DOS booted machine
(\dosutils\autoboot).  It gets to the point where it asks what kind of
driver I should use.  I tell it Adaptec 2740, etc.  An autoprobe returns
with the complaint that the CD drive doesn't appear to have a Red Hat CD in
it.

I assume that autoprobe isn't working properly and I need to specify some
options, but after having tried a few, I am lost.  What options do I need to
specify to get this card recognized?  Thanks for the help!!!
