HELP: Adaptec AIC-7890

Linux:  Redhat 5.1

System:    Gateway/ALR 7200 server
                        onboard dual AIC-7890 Host adaptors
                        2 Seagate ST39173LW disk drives (ID 0 and 1)
                        IDE CD-ROM

When I try to load RedHat 5.1 from CD-ROM the installation program will
not reconize the hard drives. I can access these drives via DOS using
the a ASPI driver.

Two weeks ago I was able to load 5.1 on a Gateway 7000 ( Adaptec 7880 on
board SCSI adaptor) with out a problem.

Can someone give me some help ? Please.

Will 5.2 work any better?

yes get Redhat 5.2 or upgrade to 2.0.36 or wait till Monday, 2.2.0 is
supposed to be out.

1. HELP, Adaptec AIC 7890 on new DELL Poweredge 2300 Server

I just brought and DELL Poweredge 2300 Server, it comes with two SCSI
Adaptec cards, one AIC 7890 with a 9Gb Hard Drive and one AIC 7860 with
a NEC CDROM and Archive Python tape backup. At install, the AIC 7890 is
not recognized although the AIC 7860 is working, loading the RedHat V.
5.0 but when I invoke the Druid utility to create the Hard Disk
Partitions, I receive a No Drive Found message. Where I can get the
driver for the Adaptec AIC 7890 and how I patch it with my Linux Ver.
5.0 OS?
