What is the longest uptime reported with kernel 1.2.13 on slackware 2??
or on any kernel for that matter.

I know that it is not Linux, but I have Dec Ultrix machine and it has been running for 80 days.

I had a record of 19 days with absolutely no problem and mostly running
xwindows applications. I had to reset my machine to do some work
in MS Windows afterwards. I miss WINE a lot ;-)

Current: 1.2.13, Slackware 2.3.0

UP (after power-outage): Mon Oct 30 17:55:17 GMT+0200 1995
DOWN (administrative): Fri Dec 1 05:23:03 GMT+0200 1995
=> 5:20am up 31 days, 11:25, 2 users, load average: 0.30, 0.23, 0.08

No problems during period. Next scheduled down = when 1.4.13 is out... :-)

I plan to shut it down on Christmas.

But probably more revealing would be if we could find someone whose
server averaged loads of at least 1.00 plus for 30 or more days.

Anybody?

(wave) over here! news1.mpcs.com, roughly 1.5-2.0. An inn1.4u2 newsserver
eating a full usenet feed.

I've managed 62 days on 1.1.59 before I managed to unknowingly disconnect
the UPS control cable and fool Linux into a shutdown as it thought that the
power was out. :-)

Has anyone else noticed that the longer the system is up, it seems to take
longer to be able to telnet it from another machine, from about a second
when it's first booted, to 10 seconds after 50+ days?

Looking through my logs, I have noticed times of 15 and 30 days. I
don't have load statistics, but my system is running innd for news
feed, servicing 16 dialin ppp lines, and now has a www server on it.

I average 4 users on at one time and 14 from 16:00 to 22:00 everyday.

The last unexpected problem was due to a power outage that lasted
longer than my UPS's.

I want to upgrade to a newer version but the saying goes, if it ain't
broke don't mess with it.

I am happy with linux and feel sorry for those poor soles that
purchase SCO UNIX.
