Hi. I REALLY don't want to delete all of my files and repartition my HD.
I've tried UMSDOS and can't get LILO to boot at startup. Now I want to
use FIPS to resize my Windows '95 partition. I tried that and it didn't
work. Then I remember that I need a disk optimizer. Now, they must think
I'm crazy if I'm going to spend my money on Norton Utilities to get
speedisk which I'll onlly use once! Does anybody know of any
freeware/shareware disk optimizers available for download? I would really
appreciate it if somebody could help me. Please respond to me directly as
to I never visit newsgroups. Thanks a mill!

How about using SCANDISK that comes with Windows 95?

Unless SCANDISK is broken, it would be pretty unlikely that anyone
would be motivated to replace it.  Older shareware defragmenters
probably exist but would probalby destroy the Win95 VFAT.  OK, not
destroy, but damage it.

Maybe you should visit the news groups. It's amazing what you can
learn just by reading what others have written.

While you're at it, you might want to take a visit to www.linux.org or
www.ssc.com/linux for more information that should be very useful for
setting up Linux.

1. Please Help - Need help in mounting HD on SCO ODT 3

NEED URGENT HELP:

Any help in getting this /u mounted back would help me immensely.

I have added a Seagate ST32105N to my SCO ODT 3.0 box with dpt host
adapter card. After four days of working my system crashed with panic of
unexpected kernal trap and halted.

After reboot, the system did not mounted the file system '/u' on the
second harddisk with the message cannot stat fs_type of /dev/u.

One mistake which I have made at the time of adding harddisk was instead
of giving command
        'mkdev hd 1 0'

I gave command as follows

       'mkdev hd 1 1'

but system gave no error and proceeded with adding harddisk sucessfully.

Now after recovery of the system

divvy for /dev/hd11 shows following entries

u               NON FS          no      0       0       2090960
scratch         NON FS          no      6       2090961 2093054
hd11            Whole Disk      no      7       0       2095071

and divvy for /dev/hd10 shows following

d1150           NON FS          no      0       0       2090960
                Not UsedO       no      6       2090961 2093054
d1157all        Whole Disk      no      7       0       2095071
