Newbie: IBM Thinkpad 560 and Xfree86 3.2

Post by Nigel Heal » Sat, 08 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I have Redhat 4.0 (with Xfree 3.1.2) and have updated Xfree86 to 3.2

I have a Thinkpad 560 with 12.1 TFT.

I am able to get X working with standard 640*480 resolution.

I have not yet succeeded in getting 800*600 to work.

I am using the cy9382 patch.

Can someone please help me, emailing their XF86Config file preferably.

1. Running Xfree86 3.2 on IBM Thinkpad 560

I'm trying to get Xfree86 3.2 up and running under Linux (Slackware 3.0),
on my Thinkpad 560.  It uses the Cyber 9382 chip with the Trident 9660 GUI
board.  I don't have the monitor frequency specs, and can't find them
anywhere (even tech support at IBM!)

Right now when I run the config file setup program, the screen goes black and
the machine hangs when it tries to boot the X server (I'm using SVGA).

If anyone has a working config file, or at least the monitor specs, I would
very much appreciate seeing them.

Thanks in advance,
