Has anyone used the system administration program Webmin?
http://www.webmin.com/webmin/
I got this and thought it was a pretty good project. This was along
the lines of the same project I was going to start, but decided not to
since this was pretty much the same program I was going to do. But the
thing is, I havn't seen many people use this. I've asked around about
these types of programs but no one has ever mentioned it. Does anyone
have any opinions on it?

I use SSL Webmin for my home system.  Works fine, but I am no
sysadmin.  Frankly, at the time I set it up  I didn't know how to
setup secure shell at home and work and Webmin was a simple option
that allowed me to use my browser from work.

I think Caldera is switching to webmin as their primary sysadmin gui
program.
I've never used it personally but it seems to look nicer than linuxconf
on
Redhat.

I like it.
Then again the problem for me is anything web-based also seems a little
ugly, clunky, and slow, like webmail.

It's killer when you need it, but not my prefered my to do things.  It would
actually seem better to run it on 100 client machines than
using it for a server since I can sit at my machine and tweak anything on a
remote lab machine without leaving my chair.  In fact even
remotely reboot, which would scare someone if they were using it. :>

Too bad all client machines where I work run NT.
I agree though as the Linux desktop tools are that great and VB is a must.

1. sound doesn't work, no floppy, no new user under kde, anyone using webmin, netatalk

I installed linux/ppp rev4.0 on my 8500 Powermac with a
G3-Processorcard (Joecard from Germany). I was very impressed by the
easy to use installation process. The most difficult thing was the
partitioning of my external small HD.
I managed to set up the video resolution to millions of colors and to
mount my Mac-HDs.
But then i ran into problems.
1. Sound doesn't work except the error beep.
2. I can't mount the floppy
3. when i set up a new user under kde and log in as the new, the
desktop appears but without any icons and i can't start any programms
with a mouseclick. But i can shutdown the session by clicking on the
"x" on the user panel.
4.When looking for graphical tools to administer my linux system i
found a tool call webmin (www.webmin.com) but i could not manage to
install it, because of an error in the installation script.
5. During boot the system prints an error while initialising netatalk.
I am not able to see the other macs on the network or the PC running
PC-MacLan-Connect, although TC/IP is running and i can ping my
computers.

So many questions. Any suggestions?
