Scanner support?

Scanner support?

Post by Pollus Fornero » Thu, 06 Nov 1997 04:00:00

Hi,

I have this old HP-IIp flatbed scanner  which is connected to an Adaptec
1510 scsi card. I'd like to use
it with Linux (Redhat 4.2, kernel 2.0.30).

Is there any support for scanners in Linux? And if so, is there any good
graphics (or copying or fax) software written for Linux?

Any hints? Thanks.

I have an HP 4C ScanJet... connected to a DTC-3520A SCSI adapter....
I am using XVScan which is based on the XView software... it is
very useable. I paid US$50 for the software from tummy.com it works
very well on my system and worth every penny.

Anyone know if XVscan supports Umax 1200S scanners?

Here's a great source for scanner support:

Linkname: SANE Home Page: Unix Scanner Software
