I'm on the verge of getting a laptop with Windows XP and a bundle of
software which I'd like to keep. The hard disk is FAT32 formatted.
I've been reading the instructions at
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/Linux+NT-Loader.html
(Copy an image of the first 512 bytes of the Linux partition, copy it
to the windows partition and modify boot.ini to present Linux as an
option.)
This document mentions NT. Will this work for all versions of XP as
well?
Also, this document presumes that NTFS is used on the NT partition.
Are the instructions that same for FAT32? (Can't think why not, but
no harm in checking.)
And finally, "C: Properties" reports the file system as FAT32. Is this
real FAT32 which Debian can recognise or some super duper extended
FAT32 which for some strange reason doesn't work with Debian?
Thanks in advance.
Bill, muttering something about playing nice with each other.
