SB 16 Vibra PnP

I'm trying to install my Vibra card on Suse 6.0 Kernel 2.0.36 .I have
followed all manual instructions but ...no way.I have managed to play
audio cd's through kscd but I can't get no wav files out ! In addition
to this I'm trying to install the oss driver delivered with SuSE but the
osslinux.runme file ,even assigned executable ability (chmod -x) does
not work, returns no such command or directory..

SB settings...

220 I/O Base
IRQ 5
LDMA 1
HDMA 3
MPU 401 as in the manual of SB
MPU IRQ -1

when I pipe a wav to the card I get a scratchy noise.Card works ok under
Win95

Suggestions?

1. Which PNP support for Vibra 16 / SB 16

I have found Peter Fox's isapnptools and Tom Lees' pnp driver.  Any
opinions on which route is the best?  The pnp driver is integrated into the
kernel, but looks like it is dependent on the kernel version.  The
isapnptools looks less intrusive but sound driver has to be built as a
module.

Any personal accounts with either product gratefully accepted.

Regards,
David
