While I've been finally successful in the setup of Linux Slackware from
Infomagic's CD. I can't get LILO to work, I've Linux setup in hda2, while
hda1 is the DOS partition, the result is the same whether I set the LILO
in the MBR or using the Superblock of the Linux partition (and mark the
hda2 as active, of course). The fact is, when my system boot, instead of
L I L O, a series of 4040404040404040....... come out, but I've no
problem in booting Linux from the boot floppy I created during the
Slackware Setup program, Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. while finally I've learn to use "# rdev /vmlinuz" which show that my
Root device is /dev/sda, (yes I have a SCSI HDD on an AHA 2940
adapter, but it was not recognised by the Kernal 1.2.1 I've from the
CD distribution, and I've not even partition and use the SCSI HDD
yet!) but even after I change the root device to hda2 by rdev, the result
is the same.
