I have a 1270Meg Hit SCSI and installed Linux in a logical partition. Unfortunatly the geometry
of the drive confused LILO and no amount of fiddling with parameters would allow LILO to
boot the LINUX partition. I thought I'd be booting from floppy forever. LOADLIN is a program
which allows linux to be booted from the DOS partition under DOS. With a bit of setup I got
it working. I set the DOS config to run loadlin and boot LINUX at startup. (I only use dos to get sound on DOOM.)
Its also good because its easier to test new kernels which have been copied from linux to the c:\loadlin
directory. You can also set up a CONFIG.SYS menu to select DOS or Linux.
This has really saved me because I sure did not want to start over from scratch and repartition the
drive to make Linux boot!
BTW , I think OS/2 and LINUX make a great pair of operating systems!
It's been well worth the time and trouble.
