Slack 3.0.0 Boot Problem with AHA1522

Post by Ed Crensh » Sun, 21 Jan 1996 04:00:00

I have an Adaptec AHA1522 with a 1GB SCSI drive partitioned
as follows:
                200 MB /dev/sda1
                 65 MB /dev/sda2
                735 MB /dev/sda3
So far these partitions are formatted for DOS since I haven't
been able to boot from the Slackware 3.0.0 bootdisk.  I have
tried 'scsi' and 'ascsi' and each hangs after displaying the
'loading ramdisk' message.  This is my third Linux install, but
the first with only a SCSI drive.

I have tried using the boot parameter:

    ramdisk aha152x=0x340,11,7,1

to no avail.  Is ther something simple I am missing?  Any help
would be appreciated.

Hi All,
Slackware scsiboot bootdisk recognizes the AHA1522 card,
which I placed at IRQ10, not the default IRQ11 because my
NE2000 clone interfered with it???

The SCSI detection goes well, pulls out the right numbers, etc
*but does not* detect any disks...... (A situation not found in the
SCSI howto!)

Pointers anyone? I shall particularly pleased to hear from people
with the same setup....

(The NE2000 clone performs extremely under pl13 -- I am similtaneously
upgrading disc and pl)
