Reducing Mem Usage by skipping iBCS, lpd, inetd, any problem?

Greetings, Linux folks.

I commmented out lines about iBCS, lpd, inetd from rc.d files.
After reboot, my linux is still running well.  I can run X, dip
and Nescape without problems.  But I suspect I may lose something.
Can anybody tell?

Cheers
