Very Computer

Just installed RH v7 on my dual PII box.  Everything's working fine except
the flickering and hazy characters on the monitor issue.  When the
resolution is set to 800 X 600 (16 bits and 32 bits both work), it works
fine; but at 1024 X 768 onwards the flickering and haziness starts killing
me.

Any suggestions ideas???

Run XConfigurator or XF86Setup, and enter the Hsync and Vsync values for
your monitor into the boxes in the "Advanced" settings.  It sound to me
like you just picked a generic monitor, and you're running 1024x768 at
60Hz or lower.  Most modern monitors are capable of better refresh
rates, and X uses the Hsync and Vsync values you give it to determine
which refresh rates the monitor can use safely with which resolutions.

If that all seems too complex for you, run Xconfigurator and tell it
your monitor is capable of displaying 1024x768 at 70Hz--there should be
a choice in one of the menus for that....
