The http://www.xinside.com page claims XInside is shipping AcceleratedX2.1.
Version 2.1 claims to support the S3/86c325 ViRGE chipset (Stealth3D).
To my knowledge this is the only X11Rx server to support the S3-ViRGE.

Has anyone tested their shipping product?
I'm anxious to try the production-demo; the beta-demo diddn't work (for me).

Hey Craig,

I'm using AccelX 1.2, and tried calling them today to find out where I could
download the ViRGE drivers (I have one too) and no one called back, I guess
they are busy or lazy... I checked out their web site at www.xinside.com and
it DOES say that the ViRGE is supported, that's about it :(

Following up to my original post:

The new XInside demo (2.1) works great on the S3-ViRGE until you try
and run an X-client (ie fvwm/twm/xterm/etc.).  The S3-ViRGE X-server
immediately terminates (broken pipe) as soon as you try and run a client.
Everyone else I've talked to has experienced similar results.

Was I presumptuous in thinking I could run a window manager with the
demo version of AcceleratedX?  The 1.2(?) preview allowed me to run
a window manager (although most fonts were unreadable).

Come'on Xfree - let me know what I can do to help!  Recently I've been using
MSWindows for high-res apps (gasp!).  If we don't get an S3-ViRGE server
soon I'll have to join a 12 step program!

This has been fixed, a new version is available on their web siteas of today!

It should work.  After getting the new release of the demo, I was able use
my Imagine 128 Series 2 board, albeit it locks up sometimes!  Anyway, it
worked with all fonts as far as I could tell..

Those twelve step programs are bad for you, you'll have to get into a 12 step
program to get OUT of the other 12 step program! 8-)
