I went to SuSE 6.0 because I couldn't get RH 5.2 to run X. Now I'm thinking I
ought to switch back because sound is so complicated to set up in SuSE. I have
the same card, but a different monitor. Here's my XF86Config in case it might
help. You will have to cut and paste relevant parts. Note that my monitor can
only go up to 1024 x 768.

SaX allowed me to pick both my card and my monitor.

Hope this can help you. I am just a newbie, so this is the best I can do. One
other thing, though. You should not have to reboot. <leftCTRL><leftALT><BKSP>
should shut down your X-Server immediately.

1. Video drivers for trident 9680 SVGA card

Hi there All,
I'm preparing to go to Linux as my OS. Before I do I'm making sure
all my ducks are in a row. My trident 9680 SVGA card isn't listed in
any Linux docs I've found as compatable hardware. However the driver
CD supplied with the card has UNIX
drivers. I'm assuming the standard UNIX drivers will work fine under
Linux.
If that's not the case please drop me a note and let me know.
Thanks
Jeff B.
