I have an Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller and have tried for several days to
build a Linux kernel (1.2.8) that would recognize this controller.
According to the SCSI howto on sunsite.unc.edu, this controller is in the
distribution kernel, but when I do a "config make", I never see an option
for selecting a AHA2940 controller.
Any suggestions on where to proceed?

Howdy,
Been reading this group as of late and am trying to get the low-down on
running Redhat Linux with an Adaptec 2904 SCSI Controller and figured
that someone here could provide a precise answer...
Anyway, I am thinking of getting a 2940 for my PC and want to know what
the scoop is on running this adapter with Redhat Linux 4.1 or 4.2.
I currently have version 4.1 and am thinking about purchasing 4.2.
I have checked RedHat's web pages and see that it is "partially"
supported. Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
