Uninstalling lilo

Post by Jeff Leac » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I recently installed Caldera Linux 2.3 on my system which already has
Windows 98SE on it.  I set it up for a dual boot system, but now would
like to remove Linux from this machine and put it on a stand alone
platform.  Is there ANYWAY possible to remove the LILO from my MBR without
fdisking the drive and ulitmately having to reinstall windows and over 30
gigs of data??  BTW.. my linux OS is on a second stand-alone drive in this
machine.  THANKS in advance!!!

lilo -u (look into the /usr/doc/lilo stuff.  LILO also keeps a backup of
the MBR when installing.  Using dd properly will put it back.

Yeah, and you can also do a "fdisk -mbr" from dos.
