mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sr0 as a block device
(maybe 'insmod driver'?)
I have tried to use
# mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /cdrom -o ro (as well as /dev/scd1 /cdrom)
and the same message appears. I created the sr0 device driver using
mknod and the scd0 and scd1 block devices were already in /dev
directory.
During the installation the cdrom was detected at the CONFIGURING
DEVICE DRIVERS section as the following message was shown:
CDROM sr0 at scsi2, channel 0, id 5, lun 0
The System consists of the following:
Dell PowerEdge 5133-2 XE Pentium 133 MHz
32 MB RAM
2 GB scsi hard drive NCRPCI 3.07.02 (the vendor is SEAGATE)
CDR-512 internal CDROM
CTD 8000 DDS-2 Digital Audio Tape Drive
After reading the SCSI-HOWTO, it appears that the hardware is
supported. Does anyone know why this problem is occuring?
Many thanks in advance,
