**EMERGENCY*** CONFIG HELP Sendmail Redhat 5.0 Please help

Post by Steven E. Frazie » Sun, 25 Jan 1998 04:00:00

I had hard disk crash and had to put another machine in for our domain very
quickly.  The original name of the machine
was named "test" and the domain is futurenet.net

I changed the /etc/HOSTNAME to neon from test which was the name of the
machine that went belly up.  The machine
that went belly up was running slakware.

Redhat 5.0 has the latest sendmail I am told.  Anyway.....

The problem is that all mail that comes to that machine comes as

work, can someone please tell me

Out mail is bouncing right and left, thanks very much for your help.

Steven,

Set up IP masquerading (available via the Control Panel Networking applet).
Then your machine will respond as if it is the futurenet.net machine

edit the /etc/senmail.cw file and all all the domain names the server should
recieve mail for. In this case, futurenet.com

Hi!

If you are using m4 to generate your configuration, add the line

                FEATURE(`use_cw_file')dnl

then create a sendmail.cw file which contains the list of names
for which your host is authorized to accept delivery. For example,

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Contents of sendmail.cw-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
mymachine.mydomain.com
smtp.mydomain.com
mydomain.com
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-End Contents of sendmail.cw-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

and so forth.

I think that if you are using "straight" sendmail.cf, then you want

# file containing names of hosts for which we receive email
Fw/etc/mail/sendmail.cw

or whatever location you choose.

I hope that this helps you out!
