Howdy,

I am getting a L 20 20 20... when booting LILO.  Can someone point me to
a list of error codes that descibes what the 20 means.

Thanks,

Bill.

It's in the README that comes with the lilo package.  In my system it can be
found in /usr/coc/lilo.
I haven't seen L 20 20 20... before so I looked it up.  It says:

0x20    "Controller Error".   This shouldn't happen.

Maybe something to do with a bad drive or cable or a disconnected ribbon
cable or power connector or master/slaver jumpers or something else.

Neil.

I had this 20 20 mess when by mistake set up lilo so that it tried to boot
from cd-rom instead of hdd. And while messing with disk/bios options
i also came across this message a couple of times.
I guess most likely reason is that your lilo tries to boot from nowhere.
(device which you don't have on your system)
