Creative Labs Modem Blaster Flash 56K heeelllppp!!!!

I am trying to install and get Linux to dientify my modem. For some reason
it won't. I have tried every thing to try to get it to initialize. My modem
is in Com 3. I have made a symbolic link from /dev/cua2 to /dev/modem. I
have tried to use minicom and all it does is pretend to inititialize and
when it dials it stays silent and does nothing for a looong time.  I tried
to test it to using echo "atdtnumbernumber/n" >/dev/cua2. Linux
Gurus..HEEEELLLPP!!! I have read many things and spent hours in Branes and
Nobles reading books on configuring Libux and hardware. Thanks!!!

I read somewhere that Linux will not work with PCI modems. Is this true?  Is
it just that no one has written a "driver" or "API" for PCI modems?

If this is not true, then does anyone know where I can go for information in
getting this PCI modem working with Linux? I'd hate to buy a new modem.
