Boot with Adaptec AIC7850 SCSI

Post by Eric L.S. Cha » Thu, 03 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Hi there,

I have been trying to install RedHat 2.1 (kernel 1.2.13) on my Compaq
machine, but
I could not get Linux to recognise my CD-ROM drive which is on an
Adaptec AIC7850
SCSI adaptor. What parameter should I supply at LILO?

my configuration is :
I/O address: 1000 - 10FF
IRQ : 11
SCSI ID : 5

Thanks for your help

Eric

Based on my understanding, you need a newer version of RedHat (like the
just-released Rembrant (v4) to access such a controller. Otherwise, it's
just not supported in the kernel (1.2.13 is now quite old...)

I would try the aha152x parameter, heck it's only take a moment to see
if that works!!
